Inline Module Support

 Known Issues:

- Tags are case-sensitive
- Currently no minimum length of an article. Roadmap item.

When using the module, I notice some text after the article which reads "Inline article positioning by Inline Module."  Why does this appear and how do I disable it?
Easy!  This link to our site is the only compensation we ask for use of this free plugin.  However we understand that not every site, such as those developed commercially for clients, are able to include this on their pages.  That's why we wrapped this element in a CSS Div tag, to make it simple to hide from the user display.  Simply add this statement to your CSS file to disable this text:
.gammabluetag { visibility:hidden; }
How do I create a module position for use with this module?
It's a simple process (and a standard Joomla 1.5 feature) to assign a module to a new module position. In the Module that you want to display, simply type the name of the new position into the "Position" field. This value should match the module position name you define in the plugin parameters, in the field "Module Position Name."

The default is "inline" so all you would need to do is type "inline" as the position for your Module in edit screen of your Module (accessed from the Module Manager list user interface). These instructions are also included in the help text of the Plugin Parameters, when you mouse over the field called "Module Position Name."

Inline Module Overview Inline Module for Joomla

Introducing Inline Module, a plugin for Joomla which allows the automatic insertion of a module at a natural breaking point in the article, such as at a paragraph tag or div tag.  Use the Inline Module plugin when you want to introduce an inline module to all articles on the site, without requiring your content authors to be responsible for including a module.

This plugin actually inserts a module position, which will load as many modules as are assigned to the designated module position.  Fully configurable and with an extensive debug mode, the Inline Module plugin will make your life as a content publisher easier.

Works with all templates and doesn't require any hack to the Joomla core!  Users can target different modules for different areas of the site by targeting modules into the newly defined module position for only the menu items that are desired.  The Inline Module plugin allows configuration to enable or disable all five content views independently, and allows for custom definition of module position name and CSS style.

Features include:

  • Insert only at natural breaking points, such as paragraph tag, linebreak, or div tag.  Avoid wrapping errors!
  • Module appears on any article, from any author, in any layout, of any template, without any additional entry needed in the article!
  • Use the new module position just as you would with any other module position from your template: zero to many modules may load and appear.
  • Fully configurable: configure how far into the article to insert, what tag to use to identify the natural breaking point, a backup tags, last-resort options, applicable layouts, and more!
  • Name the module position whatever you choose, and assign modules as you normally would for any other module position
  • Apply CSS styling via the CSS stylesheet, or directly from the plugin configuration
  • Extensive debug mode with pre-flight log, execution error notificaiton, pre/post insertion indicators, article Split Search String highlight view, and execution log
  • Works out-of-the-box without plugin configuration to apply module at 40% mark of all articles in the article layout
